•  image: nginx  >> is actually  image: docker.io/library/container eg.  image:docker.io/library/nginx 

library is maintained by docker

• Private repository needs docker login
  • Update pod yaml iwth full image: path

  • Create secret to hold login info

    kubectl create secret docker-registry regcred --docker-server= --docker-username=  --docker-passowrd=  docker-email=

  • now make docker creds available to pod by adding

    imagePullSecrets: 
    - name: regcred
