(soft white)Teflon Tape * Wire wool , emery cloth * Flux - acid-free * Solder - lead-free * Heat resistant gloves. * Plumbers fiberglass mat, or ceramic tile to protect wall from gas flame * Pipe cutter, clamp with cutter wheel * De-burring file to clean inside of pipe edge * Steel wool to clean connection end * Miniature valves * pipe dope or joint compound or teflon tape. * Copper pipes * Metric - sizes 15mm, 22mm and 28mm (External measured) * Imperial - sizes 1/2", 3/4", 1" (Internal measured) * If connecting Imperial to metric, compression fittings could work, for soldering adapter is needed for exact fit. * Compression fittings (joints) * 2 x Cap nut's, 2 x olive, Body * After hand tightening, add one revolution. * Water tighten, by undo fitting after tightening, and wrap PTFE tape around olive, approx 8 turns in clockwise direction. * Solder fittings, Capillary fittings * Cut pipe, clean with wire wool, littel flux. * Heat until flux begins to bubble, touch mouth of joint in two or three places with solder wire, until ring of solder all the way around joint. * Solder Integral Ring Fittings (Yorkshire Fittings) * Plastic Pipe * Can cut with sharp knife. * Collet fittings, push fit. (Don't put finger in) * Connecting old Galvanized steel pipe to copper pipe. * dielectric union - threads on one side, and female slip join for solder. * Threaded connections wrap with Teflon tape. * Start at end, don't lap over the end with couple of loops. * wrap all of thread, overlap 50%, keep tension. ...
