SNMPc Network monitoring notes

• SNMPc is a windows based, simple network monitoring tool with a couple of advaced features.
  • IT is very straight forward to get running once you obtained a licence and has remote clients that connect to a server doing the actual monitoring.

Monitoring SNMP variable e.g. OSPF full status

• Monitoring a neighbors OSPF status, select the monitoring router right click and edit properties.
  • Net.Obj.Properties Tab-Attributes, select Status Variables
  • Repace with (update IP of remote): RFC1253-MIB|ospfNbrState.10.10.1.1.0
  • Change Status Value to: full.

  • PollRequestRejected events must be changed to Critical RED, to show-up as red when ospf neighbor falls away.
